Under the direction of Danilo D'Alfonso, the department deals with relics and documents relating to the history of modern armies, taking as a privileged historical reference period that, starting from the dawn of the 19th century (and in particular the Napoleonic epic), arrives at the end of the Second World War. The category of collecting medals and honours is treated as a whole, thus extending the research to knightly orders and pieces of non-military origin. In particular, they are sought and proposed:

models, prints, photos and documents relating to the history of modern armies from the beginning of the 19th century to the end of the Second World War;

Danilo D'Alfonso has a long and articulated experience in the field of collecting militaria, medals, honours and knightly orders.
