The Pokémon Company

Illustrated by the legendary Masakazu Fukuda, this colossal holy grail stands as the undisputed centerpiece and most iconic lot of the entire auction, representing what is globally recognized as the single most prestigious, coveted, and market-defining trophy card in the history of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Over recent months, Rayquaza Gold Star has sent shockwaves through the secondary market, solidifying its status as an blue-chip tangible asset as high-grade copies continue to command historic, six-figure realized prices across major international auction houses. As the ultimate centerpiece of the 2005 EX Deoxys expansion, its allure stems from its legendary pop counts, brutal pull rates, and Fukuda’s breathtaking 3D composition where the black shiny Rayquaza explosively bursts past the borders of the art window. Encased within a protective AiGrading rigid anti-impact slab, this specific specimen achieves an overall grade of 6 EX-MT. A detailed technical analysis of its sub-grades highlights the card's exceptional eye appeal, anchored by a flawless, perfect 10 for front centering, along with sharp 8 ratings for both front borders and front corners, alongside an 8.5 for back centering. The overall score is primarily weighted by surface condition—notably affected by a faint scratch across one of its upper fins, as accurately reflected by the 5 front surface and 5.5 overall surface sub-grades. Despite this localized surface imperfection, the card retains extraordinary visual brilliance and structural integrity, presenting an unmissable investment opportunity for serious collectors seeking to acquire the king of the EX Era at a compelling market entry point.
