An offshore prison becomes the setting for an elaborate escape in this 721-piece set with 8 minifigures. Guard towers, boats and a police helicopter establish the island’s defences, while the surrounding water gives the scene the atmosphere of a miniature prison-break film.

The designers gave the inmates an unexpectedly theatrical accomplice: a getaway hot-air balloon. Another escape route leads through the sewer towards a waiting boat, with a shark adding an unwelcome complication. These details turn the imposing prison into a story full of comic possibilities. Retired in 2019, Prison Island offers collectors a distinctive coastal landmark from LEGO City’s long-running police range.
