The LEGO Group

26 x 19 x 9 cm

Fan designer Kevin Szeto combined two personal passions—LEGO building and the Beatles—to create this 535-piece set with 5 minifigures. An aerospace engineer and amateur musician, he chose the fantastical submarine from the band’s 1968 animated film, translating its psychedelic colours and rounded shapes into bricks.

Szeto first designed his proposal digitally, then built a physical version as the project gathered support. The finished model brings John, Paul, George and Ringo together with Jeremy, their curious companion from the film, while a removable roof reveals room for all four Beatles aboard. Now retired, Yellow Submarine offers a colourful crossover between music memorabilia, animation history and fan-created LEGO design.
