Folio (316 x 213 mm), fine copy in contemporary full vellum with title stamped in gold on the spine. pp. [4], iiij, 221, [1], frontispiece in red and black characters with large engraved vignette, 2 large folded engraved plates by Andreas and Joseph Schmuzer at the end of the volume.
First edition. Excellent fresh copy of this treatise on the famous bronze epigraph from the Roman era containing an edict from 186 a.C. which prohibits the festivals and rites dedicated to the god of wine, the so-called Bacchanalia.
