Sporadic foxing and light water stains. First volume with marginal woodworm damage, more significant on the margin of the preface text. Defect on the corner of the back cover and on the last leaves.
 First published in 1690. Jean B. La Quintinie (1624-1688) was a leading horticulturist of the 17th century and director of the royal gardens at Versailles from 1678.
