Fundamental work on the medical use of opium since ancient times. Contains a chemical analysis of its properties, beneficial and harmful uses in the treatment of hemorrhages, epilepsy, fever, madness, dysentery, pain, etc. Latin text. Contemporary full parchment binding with gold titles on the spine. Format in-8ยฐ, pp. (10), 548 / 519 / VIII, 387. Sporadic foxing, stains and browning. Vol. 3 with loss of text on c.
