Contemporary full parchment bindings with gold titles on the spine. Slight foxing on the leaves, browning on some leaves in the fifth volume. Latin text. First edition printed between 1787 and 1792 of the well-known pharmaceutical recipe book compiled by the Swedish physician and botanist Johan Anders Murray (1740-1791). 5 of 6 volumes (volume 2 is missing), Murray was an important pharmacologist and botanist, this work Apparatus medicaminum (1776โ92) in six volumes, the last of which was published only after his death, is a comprehensive collection of herbal remedies, with numerous pharmaceutical recipes for the preparation of plant drugs.
