Raimondo, Annibale WORK OF THE ANCIENT AND HONORABLE SCIENCE OF NOMANDY, MIRROR OF THE INFINITE GOODS AND EVILS WHICH CAN INTERVENE TO VICTIMS UNDER THE CIRCLE OF THE MOON, BY THE MOST EXCELLENT ASTROLOGER, GEOMANT, PALMIST AND PHYSONOMIST ANNIBALE RAIMONDO, REDUCED TOGETHER AND PUNISHED WITH ADDITION OF THE PHYSYNONYM OF THE SAID AUTHOR. Antwerp, 1677.
1 vol., in 8ยฐ, cm 17x11, p. 210, [2]. Old full leather binding, silent.
Illustrated 17th century, late edition (first ed. 1549) of the treatise on onomastics and numerology by A. Raimondo (16th century) with copper engravings depicting astrological schemes and zodiac diagrams; the treatise, in fact, illustrates a system of divination based on names, whose letters have, according to the author, a numerical value closely connected to the planets and the zodiac. Calc. frontispiece, colored frontispiece, woodcut engravings in the text; the last leaf, blank, is preserved. Light foxing and sporadic oxidation, but overall a good copy.
