Kingdom of the Church, important ancient knight's frock coat of the Supreme Order of Christ, mid 19th century

Extremely rare tailcoat of a Knight of the Order of Christ, or militia of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in amaranth cloth with collar and cuffs in white cloth with oak branch embroidery in silver thread, smooth half-ball buttons gilded with mercury still wrapped. Jacket never worn but eaten by moths, extremely rare as the Order is reserved exclusively for heads of State and Government. Poor state of conservation.
