Literature: Julius Yacoby (active between 1871 and 1882) was a well-known art furniture manufacturer and dealer based at *52 Regent Street, London*. His business was distinguished by producing furniture in the Gothic and Renaissance styles, often made of *carved oak* and sometimes with gilt details. Yacoby collaborated with German craftsmen, such as *L. & S. Lövinson of Berlin*, and his creations were exhibited at important international fairs, including the *Paris World's Fair of 1867*. [1]
An example of his works is a Renaissance-style *entrance chair*, made of carved and turned mahogany, currently housed in the *Victoria and Albert Museum*. This piece is marked with the inscription “JULIUS YACOBY 52 REGENT ST. LONDON.”
