The Liberation of a Prisoner, after Guercino
Etching, 302 x 413 mm (plate), 405 x 560 mm (sheet). Plate from "Collection of some drawings by Barberi da Cento called Guercino...", published in Rome in 1764. Gozzi 99.
Very nice and fresh impression printed in two colors, brown and black, with the plate tone. Printed on thick laid paper with watermark (Lily in a circle with letters, Heawood 1572). Sheet with large margins, trace of the usual editorial fold, some light browning on the edges and signs of foxing, but overall in very good condition.
