The Gathering of the Tribe for a Human Be-In was held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on January 14, 1967. This event, held in the Polo Fields, is considered a major catalyst for the "Summer of Love" by bringing together various groups within the counterculture, including hippies from Haight-Ashbury and anti-war activists from Berkeley.
