Wang Qi: famous printmaker and art historian. Wang Qi is a native of Yibin County, Sichuan Province, who graduated from Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 1937. He was a former member of the Communist Party Committee of the National Academy of Art of China, a researcher at the Academy of Printed Art, a branch party secretary of the China Art Institute, president of the Association of Chinese Printed Art Painters, and a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He participated in the design of the bas-relief for the Monument to the People's Heroes and was one of the founders of the New China Initiatives and an artist at the Lu Xun Art Institute in Yan'an.
