Nukina Kaioku (貫名 海屋 1778–1863), “Calligraphy,” ink on paper. During the Edo period, Nukina Kaioku was considered one of the leading exponents of Japanese calligraphy. The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Arao Chikashige (1903–1999), former director of the Kobe Art Museum.
