Andre Barelier, 1934-2021, studied at the Academy of Art in Marseille and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. This bronze sculpture is a representation of a Cartier award from 1985: a female deity emerges from a coffer with leaves, flowers and fruit.On the reverse top "Cartier 29 mars 1983, pour marianne et pierre". Signed lower right "A. Barelier"; on the left the foundry mark.
