Italian Louis XV style tortoiseshell display cabinet, late 19th century

with tortoiseshell veneer (hawksbill sea turtle, Eretmochelys imbricata, Cheloniidae), made in Italy at the end of the 19th century. It is a refined display piece, designed to hold precious objects or decorative art collections, typical of the late eclectic style and high-quality Italian craftsmanship of the period.
The solid wood structure is characterized by its flowing, slender lines, with an arched central body, original curved glass, and tall sabre legs, connected by a shaped lower crossbar. The entire piece is veneered in natural tortoiseshell with ebonized wood profiles and frames. The chromatic interplay between the amber veins of the tortoiseshell and the black of the ebony gives the object a visual effect of great richness and refinement.
The glass panels are arranged on three sides, including the front door, offering excellent visibility of the contents inside, which are arranged on a glass shelf. The upper edge and lower band feature refined carved motifs and beading, while the base rests on four decorated arched legs, consistent with the floral and slender style of the piece.
