Venus and the Rose, after Luca Penni
Engraving, 310 × 220 mm. State with the address of Pietro de’ Nobili and Paolo Graziani with the date 1582. State not described by Lewis in the catalogue of Ghisi prints, identifiable after his second state and before the third. Lewis 22; Bartsch XV.400.40.
Very fine impression with light plate tone, printed on laid paper with watermark. Small margins of 1–2 mm beyond the platemark; at the right edge partly trimmed along the platemark. In very good condition, except for a few small stains and some traces of adhesive tape on the verso. With frame, glass and mount (60 × 50 × 4 cm).
