Alexandri Magni praecipuae res gestae
Complete series of 11 prints (10 plates plus title page). Etching, approx. 225 × 286 mm (plate), 315 × 400 mm (sheet). State not described by Bartsch, with the address of Nicolas Johannes Visscher, probably between the second and third states (Bartsch XVII.143.545–556).
According to Bartsch, the series comprises twelve plates (including the title page), but in the TIB the supposed Plate XII is not illustrated. The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, which holds the Vrients edition, catalogues the series as consisting of ten plates plus title page (see: https://id.rijksmuseum.nl/200262700).
Very fine, sharp impressions, printed with plate tone on thin laid paper with Foolscap watermark. Sheets with wide margins beyond the platemark. Title page lightly browned, other sheets with some light marginal stains and slight signs of foxing. Nevertheless, overall in very good condition.
