This beautiful drawing focuses on the interest in the male academic nude during the era of the Grand Tour.
It should be remembered that at this time in drawing academies it was not possible to use female models, so it was necessary to concentrate on male models.
This type of drawing is therefore often the work of students learning the technique. In our case, the level is much higher and it's not an academic exercise, but rather a sketch for a painting depicting Narcissus looking at himself in the fountain.
Sheet in excellent condition and of excellent quality.
The paper has a watermark to study.
