Pair of Empire candlesticks. Gilded bronze. First half of the 19th century. Slight chipping on the marble base.

Each 47 x 31 x 31 cm
Beautiful pair of four-light candlesticks in perfect Empire style made in the early decades of the 19th century.

From the tripod base in the shape of lion's feet, a connection of acanthus leaves extends to reach the tapered central column.

The four bobeges are connected to an elegant, mirror-polished sphere by arms decorated with acanthus leaves. Their respective snuffers are still present.

The central candle holder closes the composition with an elegant bobege in the form of a capital, again with acanthus leaves interspersed with spatulas and flowerlets.

Some small graining of the gold due to use and the authenticity of the artefacts.
