Baroque Tabernacle in Polychrome Marble, Rome, late 17th century
Height x width: 211 x 158 cm
a dynamic, architectural structure featuring a richly decorated Baroque pediment with two winged putti figures supporting the central section, which is adorned with garlands and floral motifs; at the top, the face of a cherub with outstretched wings emerges. The entire piece is embellished with polychrome marble, and the lower section is completed by a band of leaf motifs inlaid in red marble.
