Italian commode cabinet in rosewood and tortoiseshell with painted glass, Louis XIV, Rome, 17th century

Height x width x depth: 162 x 181 x 54 cm.
double-body cabinet entirely panelled in rosewood (Dalbergia spp) with a fir and walnut structure.
The lower part with six drawers arranged in two rows, painted under glass with classical scenes within tortoiseshell frames (hawksbill sea turtle, Eretmochelys imbricata, Cheloniidae); the upper part with six drawers arranged symmetrically three by three flanking a central closed compartment, also painted under glass with classical scenes within tortoiseshell frames (hawksbill sea turtle, Eretmochelys imbricata, Cheloniidae).
This lot, accompanied by an expertise issued by Ce.S.Ar Centro studi archeometici.
