GIULIO ZANCOLLA

Design for drop earrings, brooches and necklace, 1940s

design drawning of two drop earrings, two brooches and one necklace. Mixed techniques on tissue paper applied on cardboard.
Literature:
Giulio Zancolla played a significant role in the history of 20th-century Roman fine jewelry, both as a designer and as a craftsman of classically styled jewelry.
Born in 1908, Zancolla worked with the Bulgari house from 1933 to 1943. After the war, he continued his work by opening a renowned independent workshop in the historic center of the capital.
The Zancolla atelier ceased operations in the early 1970s. Giulio Zancolla died in 1989, leaving behind a valuable legacy of jewelry designs created throughout his prolific career, from the early 1930s through the 1960s.
