The "Ao Yu" fish, a Chinese mythological symbol of longevity, prosperity, and success, is used as an architectural decoration mounted on roofs. The fish-shaped tiles, with their wide-open mouths and upward-facing tails, are made of ceramic glazed using the "sancai" technique (three colors: green, amber, and cream). These roof ornaments have a concave base designed to be attached to a roof beam.
