A large porcelain vase decorated with polychrome famille rose enamels depicting lively court scenes and scenes inspired by classic historical novels, with shaped side handles. China, 19th century.
Height 130 cm - Opening diameter 39 cm - Body diameter 50 cm
The large vase is decorated with reliefs depicting figures in traditional dress, some on horseback, with spears and clubs; court scenes with dignitaries, ladies, and children, on a background richly adorned with "hundred Antiquities" motifs, including ancient vases, incense burners, ancient books, scrolls of paintings and calligraphy, coins, and flowers.
Crack on the neck and restoration on the lower part of the vase.
