The Gau amulet holder is crafted with filigree appliques and beaded silver wire details on the front and a beautiful central coral set surrounded by natural turquoise stones.
The Tibetan Gau amulet holder was worn suspended around the neck and served as protective talismans, traditionally containing sacred scriptures, relics, or other auspicious objects.
The specific shape and inlays also share a symbolic connection with the ritual rice-offering mandalas used in Buddhist ceremonies, associated with Lhasa.
