lot of 6 large plates taken from the work "Description de l'Égypte", depicting Denderah (Tenetyris) – 3 plates, Thèbes (Karnak) – 2 plates, Edfoù (Apollinopolis Magna),  DFOU (APOLLINOPOLIS MAGNA) . Etching, approx. 67 x 99 cm (each sheet). In good general condition. 

"Description de l'Égypte" (Description of Egypt) was an impressive series of publications with the scientific description of Egypt. The work was prepared by around 160 scholars who accompanied Napoleon during the Egyptian campaign from 1798 to 1801, and illustrated by around 400 engravers.
