Italian text. With numerous woodcut figures in the text, numerous epigraphs and 22 folding chalcographic plates outside the text (depicting sacred/religious scenes from the catacombs). Work of the Italian historian and archaeologist Antonio Bosio (1575-1629), augmented by the theologian Giovanni Severano (1562-1640).
