[Mathematics/Physics] Giordano, Vitale: De componendis gravium momentis dissertatio. In Rome Tip. Bernabo, 1687
Vitalis Iordani Bitontini ... De Componendis Gravium momentis dissertatio. Romae, Typis Angeli Bernabà, 1687. In-4°, pp. (6), 14, (2). Important scientific publication with the reflections of the mathematician Vitale Giordano on the gravitational theories of Galileo and Torricelli. Printer's mark on the front, 1 headpiece and 3 woodcut capital letters. Later half-parchment binding with boards covered in decorative paper. Format in-4°, pp. (6), 14, (2). Excellent copy, sporadic foxing and browning, small tears on the upper edge. Riccardi's citation is dubious, where he claims that the first work was published for the first time in 1685 but no copy of that edition has been traced. Carli-Favaro 372; Riccardi I 603.
