The painting bears an old brush inscription on the back with an inventory reference: "1386".
The canvas replicates the face of the angel depicted by Cerrini in the Deliverance of Saint Peter, known in the two versions in the Galleria Pallavicini in Rome and the Galleria Toschi-Mosca in Pesaro (sale Finarte-Semenzato, Venice, 4th July 2004) .
