Behold the Man, Veneto 16th - 17th century

Rectangular plaque mounted in Pace, natural light brown patina; mm 126.9 x 75.2; gr 221.9.

Half figure of Christ with crossed halo, emerging from the tomb and crowned with thorns, with his hands tied he holds the cane in his left hand; behind him the shroud. Above in the tympanum a cherub and below at the base a floral motif; at the sides smooth columns.
Modest casting with small losses in the lower part. Smooth handle added later.
