Large paintings consisting of three panels depicting a Balinese village and rice fields.
KETUT TAGEN, a pupil of Arie Smit, is one of the most representative artists of the scene in Penestanan, Bali, skilled in combining bright colours in scenes depicting the traditional daily life of that village. His specific characteristic is the absence of anatomical details on the faces.
He has exhibited in many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco (1964), the National Museum in Singapore (1970), the Singapore Art Museum (1994) and the National Museum in Jakarta (1995).
