Peter of Kiev is a venerated saint in the Russian Orthodox Church, whose patron saint he is. He was a monk and iconographer and founder of a monastery. He is often depicted wearing episcopal robes, the archiepiscopal stole (homophorion), while with his right hand he makes the sign of blessing and in his left hand holds a book symbolising his doctrinal authority.
