Italian solid silver sugar bowl, Rome, early 19th century
Height x width x depth: 14 x 16 x 9 cm. Weight: 315 g.
Elliptical in shape, resting on an oval base, with a smooth body engraved with a noble coat of arms; on the sides, two circular handles with lion head terminals. The domed lid is decorated along the edge with stylized floral motifs and features a pinecone-shaped finial.
Hallmarked with the chamber marks in use in Rome after 1815 for a silver fineness at the 10 ounce and 16 denari title (889/1000).
