The iconography is characterised by a serene face, concentrate, with a mysthic gaze, depicted while he is writing something on a book or, as in this case, a roll, symbol of the Gospel of St. John or the Apocalypse. St. John is wearing a green robe and a red mantle, colors full of spirituality. Gilded background, tempera on panel.
