Solid silver Indian tea pot, 19th century

melon-shaped on a circular base The wide, rounded body is entirely decorated with embossed and chiselled scenes, in the perfect style of the Burmese goldsmithing tradition. The ornamental handle is distinguished by the presence of a carved elephant's head, with its trunk in relief, while the spout also takes up the figure of the elephant. The hinged lid is embellished with a small decorative figure above an elephant.
