The painting was confirmed to Domenico Brusaferro by Prof. Anna Pietropolli on the basis of professional photographs.
The work is present in the archive of the Zeri Photo Library, file number 67483, as a work by an anonymous Venetian artist or as Gaspare Diziani or Sebastiano Ricci. On the verso of Photo 128097 autograph note by F. Zeri in pencil: ‘20 Feb. 1970, from Roy Fisher as Sebastiano Ricci’.
