of round shape with drawer, top in cipollino marble, embellished with bronze applications on the uprights of the four legs .
Literature:
Claude Mercier (born 1803) settled in Paris at 15 rue Beautreillis in 1828, then moved to 100 rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, where the company remained until 1985.
Specializing in period furniture , it supplied numerous European and Eastern courts, most notably the imperial family of Iran.
As early as 1856, the firm became Mercier Père et fils, then, in 1863, Mercier fils aîné, and finally, in 1867, Mercier Frères, a name still current today. In 1855 Mercier was a supplier to the Royal Court of Spain. His house quickly became well-known and participated from 1844 in all the art exhibitions
