The project THE FLAG OF THE WORLD, which saw its first exhibition at the MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome on December 20, 2018, has become an incredible opportunity for discussion and discussion on the pressing issues of our time.

The work aims to raise awareness among citizens of the responsibility and commitment of each individual in building a harmonious and sustainable society, one that celebrates diversity, in balance with nature, and in accordance with the intentions and objectives promoted by the United Nations 2030 Agenda. The Flag of the World was born from the meeting of two artists, Angelo Savarese and Michelangelo Pistoletto, and from their shared desire to create a collaborative event to give the public the opportunity to recognize their own national identity alongside that of others, as part of a broader and unified territorial and cultural context, where everyone plays a fundamental role in maintaining the proper balance. Through a simple gesture—the placing of a flag designed by Angelo Savarese on the appropriate supports that form the structure of the Symbol of the Third Paradise conceived by Michelangelo Pistoletto—the viewer becomes an active participant and takes upon themselves the responsibility of reshaping the world, eliminating distances, and exalting differences.
