Bearded old man seen in profile

Etching, 110 x 82 mm. Bartsch XXI.29.36; Bellini 27.
The engraving has been attributed by Jaco Rutgers to Salvatore Castiglione, brother of Grechetto, on the basis of the engraved signature visible in the copies preserved at the Rijksprentenkabinet in Amsterdam and at the Galleria Sabauda in Turin (J. Rutgers, Not Giovanni Benedetto but Salvatore Castiglione, Print Quarterly, 21 (2004), 163-164).

A fine impression on laid paper. Trimmed sheet, in excellent condition.
