Sardinian toothpick in 800 silver, Sardinia, 19th century

Height x width pendant: 9 x 3.5 cm. Chain length: 60 cm. Weight: 33 g.
shaped like a goat with a small fish and embellished with leaf motifs, it was historically used as a toothpick and piece of jewellery. Historically, the Spuligadentes was not only a functional object for personal hygiene, but also an ornamental piece of jewellery and a powerful protective amulet, believed to ward off the evil eye and negative energies. Worn by both men and women, it combined aesthetics and symbolism, becoming a lucky charm of great cultural value.
