Double-bodied bureau with internal piano, Hamburg, 18th century
Height x width x depth: 214 x 124 x 65 cm.
From the transition period between Louis XVI and early Biedermeier, in mahogany and mahogany veneer, with gilt bronze applications. Architectural upper section in the form of a small temple with triangular pediment, alabaster columns, and side mirrors. Arched flap with interior drawers and compartments; lower section concealing a strong top in the first drawer, with inlaid manufacturer's name and year of production (1798), followed by two drawers. Gilded bronze handles and knobs.
