Neoclassical inlaid bedside table, Northern Italy, 18th century
Height x width x depth: 78 x 52,5 x 40 cm.
single door, veneered in rosewood (Dalberga spp.) and purple ebony (Dalbergia cearensis, Ducke, 1925) richly inlaid with precious woods. The front features a refined central medallion with a neoclassical scene, framed by geometric and floral inlays. Pyramidal legs decorated with floral inlays, vases, and rosettes. An example of late 18th-century Lombard cabinetmaking from the Lombardy region.
