Embroidered silk commemorative banner of the mission to China, 1897–1900, in memory of a German soldier of the 3rd Company of the Navy. Beautifully embroidered in silk thread and silver wire, with the inscription "ZUE ERINNERUNG AN MEINE DIENSTZEIT - VOM FELS ZUM MEER - DEUTSCH CHINA - SEESOLDAT ULRICH" (IN MEMORY OF MY SERVICE - FROM THE ROCK TO THE SEA - GERMAN CHINA - SAILOR ULRICH).
With a contemporary frame, in good condition. Measures approximately 48 x 57 cm.
