KETUT TAGEN, a student of Arie Smit, is one of the most appreciated artists on the Penestanan scene in Bali, adept at combining vibrant colors in scenes depicting traditional village life. His distinctive characteristic is the absence of anatomical details on the faces.
He has exhibited in many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco (1964), the National Museum in Singapore (1970), the Singapore Art Museum (1994) and the Museum Nasional in Jakarta (1995).
