A Russian silver and niello coin purse, circa 1880-1890

Height x width x depth: 2 x 7 x 5 cm. Weight: approx. 49 g.
oval in shape with hinged lid, entirely niello-worked with stylised floral and geometric motifs and featuring burgundy leather interiors.

Hallmarked with the multi-funcional hallmark for silver at a fineness of 84 zolotniks (875/1000) used in St. Petersburg around 1880–1890, and bearing the mark of an unidentified silversmith.
