Bezoar with silver base, Central Europe, 17th - 18th century
Height x width x depth with base: 13.5 x 8 x 8.5 cm. Weight without base: 105 g.
broad and lobed in shape, consisting of several adjacent rounded lobes, characterized by a curvilinear pattern. A slightly flared foot rises from the center of the base. The bezoar is attached to the base by a motif composed of four thin metal bands. The object belongs to the category of wunderkammer works, collections in which wonder and knowledge came together in unique and extraordinary objects.
