English Victorian sterling silver tea kettle , London, 1844-1845

Height x width x depth: 29.5 x 28.5 x 23 cm. Weight: 2050 g
complete with support and burner. The ensemble rests on a three-lobed base richly decorated with foliage and floral motifs, supported by three feet crafted en suite. At the centre of the structure is an alcohol burner, designed to maintain the heat of the water. On this base rests the boiling pot, richly decorated with scroll and foliage motifs, equipped with a handle and spout. The upper part is closed by a lid, decorated and topped with a floral motif knob.

Sterling silver 925/1000, complete series of London marks 1844-1845, silversmith Edward Farrell.
