French Empire silver vegetable dish, Paris, 1819-1838
Height x diameter x width (with handles): 15 x 17 x 26 cm. Weight: 936 g
circular in shape. The body has square handles decorated with a leaf motif. The hinged lid has a rim with a repeated palmette motif and a knob on top for gripping.
950/1000 silver, hallmarked with the marks for silver at the first standard in use in Paris from 1819 to 1838, with the unofficial hallmark used by the Association des Orfévres in Paris "head of a Greek woman with letter P" and with a hallmark used in the French departments from 1838 onwards.
